Hey, Annapolis! is a free local discovery app for Annapolis, MDthat helps people find what’s happening nearby — local businesses, events, live music, happy hours, drink specials, and community announcements.

The app is operated by LocalHype.us. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. It applies to our website (heyannapolis.us) and mobile app (together, “the Service”).

• Account information — your email and name when you (as a business owner/vendor) sign up or claim a listing.
• Business listing information — details vendors provide about their business (name, address, hours, website, social links, photos, events, and specials).
• Location data — city-level only (e.g. Annapolis) to show relevant local content. We do not collect precise or GPS-level location.
• Usage data — pages visited and features used, so we can understand what’s helpful and improve the app.
• Device information — basic technical details like browser type and operating system.

To keep local business listings current, Hey, Annapolis! accesses public Facebook Page posts through the Facebook Graph API. Specifically:

• We access public Page content only — posts published publicly by a business’s own Facebook Page. We never access private user data, private messages, friend lists, or any non-public information.
• Purpose: we use this public content solely to display a business’s events, specials, and announcements to local users inside the app.
• This data is used only to populate business listings in Hey, Annapolis!.
• Facebook-sourced content is never sold, never shared with third parties, and never used for advertising.
• Imported content auto-expires when the announcement’s or event’s end date passes, and is removed from the app.
• A business or Page owner can request removal of their content at any time by emailing admin@localhype.us.

• To display local business listings, events, and specials to app users.
• To send vendors account-related email and SMS notifications (only with their consent).
• To improve the app and the overall user experience.
• We never use your information for advertising, and we never sell your data.

We do not sell personal data, and we do not share it with third parties except the service providers that make the app work:

• Supabase — database and hosting
• Resend — email delivery
• Twilio — SMS delivery
• Stripe — payment processing
• Meta / Facebook — Graph API, to read public business Page content

These providers process data only on our behalf to deliver their service, and all are GDPR/CCPA compliant.

• Account data — retained while your account is active.
• Business announcements & events — auto-expire and are removed after their end date passes.
• Facebook-imported content — expires together with the announcement or event it belongs to.
• You can request deletion of your data at any time by emailing admin@localhype.us.

We use essential cookies only — for authentication and keeping you signed in (via Supabase). We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

Hey, Annapolis! is not intended for users under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn we have, we will delete it promptly.

• Access the personal data we hold about you.
• Delete your account and associated data.
• Opt out of emails at any time (every email includes one-click unsubscribe).
• Exercise any of these rights by contacting admin@localhype.us.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify users of material changes by email, and the “Last updated” date above will always reflect the most recent version.
